New Cherry Tomatoes: The Sun Series

Love Sungold cherry tomato? We trialed the rest of the Sun series (from the same breeder as Sungold) and will be carrying 4 new tomatoes that are very complementary. High yielding, early, crack resistant and delicious, these are high quality new hybrids.

Sunpeach F1 70 days
Indeterminate slightly elongated round, .5 oz, resistant to T₀MV, Leaf Mold
A beautiful pink cherry! Large clusters of very juicy fruit with excellent flavor and texture. Low acid and thin skins, and the fact that this heavy yielder resisted cracking makes it a winner.

L-R pink cherry tomato, red cherry tomato
A breeder in California told us the trick of pink cherry tomatoes. If you peal the skin off a red tomato, there is a yellow membrane layer, which brightens up the pink flesh. If you peal off the skin on a pink tomato, it will be clear, no yellow: letting the pink color through.

Sunlemon F1 70 days
Indeterminate, slightly elongated round shape, .5 oz, resistant to T₀MV
Sunlemon has heavy brooms of large yellow cherries bright gold in color. The flavor was excellent: crisp, clean and very sweet.

Sungold F1 65 days
Indeterminate Round, 1/2 oz., resistant to F J-1, T₀MV
No other tomato of its type surpasses the taste and sweetness of Sungold. This absolutely delicious and low in acid, orange yellow cherry weighs only about 1/2 ounce, and every bit of it is packed with flavor.

Sunchocola F1 75 days
Indeterminate Round, 1.3 oz
A very large cherry, Sunchocola is a beautiful and unusual tomato with an excellent juicy texture and low acid, very tangy, sweet taste. Perfectly round, very uniform sized fruit. Clusters of 8-12 fruits on short internodes off a vigorous dark green plant. Ripe when a red blush emerges on the chocolate brown, lightly striped fruit. Much bigger than the other "Sun" varieties.

Suncherry Pure F1 70 days
Indeterminate, round, .6 oz, resistant to T₀MV, F, Cladosporium, Stemphylim
A beautiful fire-engine red cherry that had consistent size throughout the season. Easy to harvest, held on long clusters on a vigorous vine. These shiny fruits go very well mixed with the rest of the "Sun" series. Super sweet and aromatic, this variety won our grower taste test poll hands down.

Here is Sungold, Sunpeach, Suncherry Pure and Sunlemon: a great small mix of similar sized and tasting tomatoes.
